Tension Across The Country As Nigerians Await Results Of Saturday’s Governorship And House Of Assembly Elections
Nigerians yesterday went to the Polls to elect New Governors and members of the States Houses of Assembly.
However, the Governorship elections took place in 28 states of the federation because other states including Anambra now have staggered elections.
Reports show that there was apathy during yesterday’s election as the turn-outs were nothing compared to the Presidential and National Assembly elections.
Some citizens who spoke to our correspondents said the apathy could be as a result of what transpired during and after the February 25 Presidential and National Assembly elections where some voters were attacked and some not allowed to vote, while in some areas, Ballot boxes were snatched indicating that some people’s votes might not count.
They advised INEC to do the needful to restore confidence in the electoral body.
All the same, results for the Saturday’s elections are expected to start trickling in this morning or later today.
