
The body of Late Ezinne Veronica Nwunye Akuvue , the mother of Engr. Dr. Sir Innocent Akuvue, The President General Nibo Town Union, has been laid to rest on Friday December 11th, 2020, in her husband Compound in Umunono Village Nibo , Awka South Council area of Anambra State.

The requiem mass which held in St. Theresa Catholic Church Nibo , was officiated by the Catholic Bishop of Nsukka Diocese , His Lordship Rt.Rev. Geoffrey Igwebukike Onah, assisted by numerous other Reverened Fathers , Catchiest , Reverend Sisters and had in attendance the traditional Ruler of Nibo, Igwe MC Ngene , Ezike Nibo IV , and Umuawulu counterpart Igwe Joel Egwuonwu ,Council Of Knights and Ladies, Politicians, Professional colleagues Engr. Innocent from Portharcourt, river state.

In his homily during the mass, the Bishop of Nsukka Catholic diocese , Rt. Rev. Godfrey Onah acknowledged that Akuvue family were passing through a hard time as death took away the live of their loved Matriarch, but reminded them that God is the resurrection and life and whosoever that believeth in Him, will have life eternal, adding that the turn out in the church auditorium is a testament that Mama was humanitarian and lived a life worthy of emulation.

He described the diseased, Late Ezinne Veronica Akuvue , as a virtuous woman who committed her life to godly living as evidenced in raising children and grandchildren who are today , committed to church building, Evangelism and ameliorating the sufferings of needy and downtrodden in the society which according to the Prelate were some of the qualities the diseased was reputed for while alive .
Bishop Onah urged the children and grand children to take solace in the numerous legacies and beautiful memories , their Matriarch bequeathed to them, revealing that begetting a son who is cerebrated and revered across the community for his leadership qualities as the Presidnt General , has given further credence that mama also committed her life to better the society while alive.
While comisrating with entire Akuvue family, praying for peaceful repose of the soul of Late Veronica , the Catholic Prelate urged Engr. Sir Innocent Akuvue , to sustain his good works he is doing as the President General, Nibo Progressive union and in his other field of endeavours , as seen in the turnout at the funerals, adding that reward of a work well done is another work. He however prayed for journey mercies for all who attended the funeral ceremony back to their various destination.
Responding , the President General, Nibo Progressive Union , Engr. Sir Innocent Akuvue, said he is strengthened by the prayers and consolation from the Prelate, Parish Priest and every other person who has been identifying with the family since their mother departed.
He thanked the Community Monarch , Igwe MC Ngene, Igwe Umuawulu , Igwe Joel Egwuonwu for their presence and standing by the entire Akuvue family. He also commended Community Vigilantee Group, the Nigeria police Force, Anambra State Command and members of Federal Road Safety Corps for what he described as heroic efforts during the funeral.
He also appreciated the supports and words of encouragement in form of phone calls, emails, text messages from the Nnamdi Azikiwe Univeristy Awka, Microbiology Department, GGI Close from Port Harcourt, ESUT Alumni, GMB Microfinance Bank Nibo, Professional colleagues, SAFOBA , in-laws from Kalabari , St. Francis college otukpo Old Boys Association and numerous wellwishers.
He equally acknowledged the E-condolence support of Nibo town union as spearheaded by the immediate past President General Nibo town union, Chief Okey Goodluck Nwankwo which he noted was targeted to curb the spread of Covid-19 and prayed God to bless all who made the burial ceremony a huge success even as he prayed journey mercies for all who graced the ceremony.
Our correspondent, Udoka Nwokoye, reports that the community monarch, His Royal Highness, Igwe MC Ngene, in his condolence message, described the diseased as his age mate, and urged the children particularly the son who is the President General Nibo to be consoled by the fact that their mother lived a decent life.
Late Ezinne Veronica Akuvue was survived by children, many grandchildren , son and many daughter in laws who are excelling in their respective chosen field of endeavors.
Other notable guest in attendance were frontline gubernatorial aspirants, Mr. Val Ozigbo , State Commisiorer of police , Managing Director Anambra State Broadcasting Service , Mr. Uche Nwora , immediate past Deputy Speaker Anambra House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Harford Oseke, Hon. Chukwuma okoye , the state Lawmaker representing Obizi in the state house of Assemly , including numerous other professional colleagues, Group of Engineers from Port Harcourt.
