The Governor of the Central Bank Of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele Honours The House of Reps Invitation, Says Redesigned Naira Policy is For Nigerians

Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele has finally appeared before the House of Representatives Adhoc Committee on Tuesday.

Recall that the Emefiele has been accused of breaching section 20 of the CBN act which stated that even after the expiration the swap of the old naira notes and such notes cease to be legal tender in the country, it can still be submitted and redeemed by the bank

Speaking at the hearing on Tuesday,Emefiele agreed with the House of Reps on that.

He also assured Nigerians that they still won’t lose their money as long as they bring it to the bank for an exchange.

He also said the Central Bank and other commercial banks are doing their best to make the redesigned naira accessible to Nigerians seamlessly.
