In commemoration of 2022 Christmas and New year cerebration, the Wife of traditional ruler of Mbaukwu Kingdom, Her Majesty Dr. Ebelechukwu Anugwu has distributed over 140 bags of 25kg Imported Rice, alongside various gift items to widows selected across villages in Mbaukwu community .
The event held on 18th December at Obu Prince Chiemelie Anugwu and was declared open by his His Majesty Igwe PN Anugwu.
Speaking at the event, His Majesty Igwe PN Anugwu commended the wife for choosing to merry Christmas seasons with less-previlaged.
According to Igwe Anugwu, a former Julius Berger Director who drove to the venue in a Toyota Camry XLE, when the Rich in the society toe this path of kindness, the problems and challenges of the poor will be greatly reduced, further adding that it is scriptural that when we give to the poor and needy, when are lending to the Lord.
On her part, Her Majesty Dr. Ebele Anugwu explained that the event has been a yearly ritual for decades but with low publicity. She said she decided to go public to rekindle the spirit of giving and kindness among the rich to the poor and the needy.
She explained that her motives for the yearly event has always revolve around resurrecting hopes and putting smiles on the faces of those women who have lost a dear one, insisting that through giving, the wealthy in the society can always integrate the celebration of Christmas season and new year on the faces of the downtrodden.
The Monarch’s wife was commended by the community President General who noted that the cardinal philosophy exemplified by Her Majesty’s kindness through the project, which the community President General described as Dr. Anugwu’s Cooperate Social Responsibility, is affecting lives of the less-privileged persons and bringing interventions that bring radical improvement for the needy.
Mrs. Charity Okafor , the president general Mbaukwu Progressive Union women wing, in her contribution said she never knew the outreach will hold this year citing harsh economic conditions in the county as reasons, prayed God to replenish the Giver by granting all her secret prayers.
In the role call at the event , Kpakpando Spotted the President West African College Of Surgeons, Prof Mbonu and Former President General, Mbaukwu Progressive Union Sir Ozoemena Onyiluka and host of other dignitaries.
