There are rumours that at least three people were killed in Awka, Anambra State capital on Sunday as a result of ongoing cult war among cultists in the city.

Though the locations of two of the three attacks were not made known, but an eyewitness told Newsmen that one of the attacks happened in the full glare of traders and passersby at Eke Awka market.

Police authorities have however denied knowledge of any killing on Sunday. Spokesperson for the Anambra State Police command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga told Newsmen that there was no such information before the command.

Last week Sunday, which was also Easter day, no fewer than six persons were reportedly killed in the city. This was also attributed to cult war among rival groups.

It was gathered that the clash which dates back to years was enkindle by struggle for control of revenue accruing from tricycle and shuttle bus operators, through tickets, emblems and others.
