Troops of the Joint Task Force Operation Fansan Yamma, in collaboration with the Department of State Services, have intercepted a large cache of arms in Zamfara State. The operation, conducted on January 27th, followed intelligence reports of suspected arms dealers operating from the Niger Republic.
During a covert operation along the Kaura Namoda-Zurmi Road, troops engaged the suspects, forcing them to abandon their vehicle and flee into the bush. A search of the vehicle revealed 2 PKT machine guns, 9 AK-47 rifles, 13 magazines, and over 180 rounds of ammunition.
Meanwhile, troops are intensifying efforts to capture wanted bandit leader Bello Turji, who has been evading capture by moving between hideouts. Military authorities have assured the public of their commitment to ensuring safety and security in the region, urging locals to provide information to aid ongoing operations.
