UAE Adopts 4-and-half-Days of Work

The government of United Arab Emirates (UAE) has adopted a new law of weekly work, to be 4 and half days for work per week, given that the holiday is on Saturday and Sunday, and Friday is half a working day, with a nationwide Friday sermon and prayer scheduled for the whole year.

The decision will be implemented from 1st January 2022 and it applies to all government entities and the work timing has been streamlined.
According to the report, as 2nd January 2022 is Sunday, it will be an official holiday.
Four and half hours of work on Friday from 7:30 AM to 3:30pm.

This also means that there is possibility of applying flexible working hours and working remotely on Fridays in the federal entities.
