Val Ozigbo Eulogises Nollywood ICON, Pete Edochie As He Marks 74th Birthday In Style

Valentine Ozigbo, the immediate past President and Group CEO of Transcorp on Monday, April 5, 2020 joined in celebrating Nollywood legend, Pete Edochie, as he celebrated his 74th birthday.

Speaking at the event held at his residence in Enugu, Ozigbo described Pete Edochie as an icon who set the tone for the successes of Nigeria’s movie industry.

Ozigbo, who was represented by Ichie Sunday Ezeobiora, the Chairman of Sunchi Farms, spoke glowingly of the celebrant, praying for him to celebrate more years in good health.

He pointed out that since starring as Okonkwo, Chief Edochie has continued to raise the bar, and set many actors on the path of greatness.

The PDP stalwart described Chief Pete Edochie as a Nigerian actor who is considered one of Africa’s most talented actors, noting that the multiple-award winning veteren came into prominence in the 1980s when he played the lead role of Okonkwo in the screen adaptation of Chinua Achebe’s all-time best selling novel, ‘Things Fall Apart’.

He further observed that in 2003, Pete was honored as a Member of the Order of the Niger by President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Ozigbo wished Peter good health, God’s blessings and all his heart desires.
