The Federal Government has announced that Air Peace will commence direct flights from Abuja to London Heathrow Airport on October 26, 2025.
This follows a letter sent by the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, to the UK Secretary of State for Transport on August 1, 2024, demanding Heathrow landing slots for Air Peace under the Bilateral Air Services Agreement.
Keyamo warned that failure to comply could lead to restricted access for British Airways and Virgin Atlantic to Nigerian airports.
After months of negotiations, UK authorities granted the request.
Keyamo praised the move as a win for Nigeria’s aviation sector and part of the Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
