Wife of Anambra state Governor set to bankroll, facelift birthplace, City Maternity Hospital Odoakpu, Onitsha

Wife of Anambra Governor, Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano, who identified City Maternity Hospital, Odoakpu as her birth place, plans to bankroll a facelift of  the facility soon.
She said this when she visited the Onitsha South Local Government Area on October 9th, during her tour of 21 LGAs of the state.

In her speech, the first lady revealed that she was emotionally attached to Onitsha South LGA, having been born and brought up in the area. Affirming, Osidieme said she always feel at home in Onitsha South because it is her home as her father’s house is still situated at No 29, St. John’s Street, Odoakpu, Onitsha.
Speaking further Mrs Obiano posited that she would not stop reaching out to the less privileged, because of her strong love for people. While promising to use her CAFÉ, a body already granted tax exemptions in the U.S., to take care of people, even after her husband leaves office.

Mrs Obiano, expressing her concerns for the safety of school children against the Coronavirus pandemic, urged the Ministry of Education and Transition Committee Chairman, Mr Emeka Asoanya to always pay surprise visits to schools in order to ensure that precautionary measures are maintained in schools in the Area to avoid the children contacting infections from the school premises.

In conclusion, Osodieme declared that Coronavirus is real and admonished everyone to not take it for granted by Observing all its precautionary measures such as maintaining proper wearing of face masks to cover the mouth and nose but not merely worn on the jaw or neck, Maintaining social distancing everywhere and ensure regular proper hand washing with soap under running water.

A member of the state Assembly, Onitsha South Constituency 11, Mrs Beverly Ikpeazu-Nkemdiche described Mrs Obiano as `Mother Theresa of our time who defies difficulties associated with Coronavirus in order to distribute palliatives to the less privileged across the state.
Hon. Ikpeazu-Nkemdiche eulogised her for all the good works that she is carrying out in the state which includes building houses for widows, building of toilets in various Markets and construction of water boreholes in various communities.

Woman leader, Association of Anambra Town Union (ASATU), Lady Emilia Ezeokenwa thanked Osodieme for reaching out to no fewer than 55 people who benefitted from the first lady’s palliatives in each of the four communities in the council Area, which includes 5 disabled children, 15 elderly, 20 indigents/widows and 15 orphans.

Commissioner for Women Affairs & Social Development, Lady Ndidi Mezue, House member representing Onitsha South Constituency 1, Mr Uzoma Eli were some dignitaries at the event.

Wife of Onitsha South TC Chairman, Mrs Promise Onyinye Asoanya presenting a birthday cake to Mrs Obiano, who recently celebrated her birthday and the distribution of palliatives to the less privileged, the elderly and orphans in the four communities that make up Onitsha South through the Governors Wife’s non-governmental charity organisation, the Caring Family Enhancement (CAFÉ) Initiative.
The communities are Odoakpu, Woliwo, Fegge/Housing and Bridge Head.
