From Akwa Ibom is the report that a woman allegedly slaughtered her mother like goat.
The incident occurred on Friday in Ikot Ekpene local government area of Akwa Ibom State.
According to eyewitnesses, although, what led to her actions is not known, but the unidentified woman chopped the body of her mother into pieces like meat.
Emmanuel Umanah, an eyewitness who who posted the photos online said the shocking incident happened at Umoh Obot road off Nto Akpan Inyang Street in Ikot Ekpene.
The post was accompanied by on-the-scene photos with the woman made to carry the pieces of her mother inside a basin on her head.
Another source closed to the suspect said the lady is mentally ill, adding that, “a prophetess told the lady that her mother is responsible for her illness and derangement, and that was why she took her life.
It was further gathered that the lady was later arrested by the Anti-Cultism Unit (ACU) of the Nigeria Police Force in Akwa Ibom State, after the news went round the community.
The lady who showed no remorse was tied, bundled into the Police van and taken to the Divisional Police Station in Ikot Ekpene.
Confirming the story, the Police Public Relations Officer in Akwa Ibom State, CSP Frederick Nudam, said that the suspect has mental illness.
Nudam added that she would be evaluated medically by Doctors before interrogation and investigation would begin.
