The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has commenced the payment of ₦50,000 monthly stipends to 10,000 indigenous youths under its Youths Internship Scheme.
NDDC’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mrs. Seledi-Thompson Wakama, announced in Port Harcourt that the beneficiaries would undergo practical training for 12 months in various organizations to develop essential skills.
The scheme, launched on July 31, 2024, was approved by the Federal Government to empower young people. Over 3.2 million applicants registered, with the final 10,000 selected transparently.
