Zamfara state House of Assembly has rejected the Federal government’s declaration of Zamfara State as ‘no flight zone.
On Friday, the lawmakers also passed a vote of no confidence on the National Security Adviser Babagana Monguno over his ‘poor handling’ of security issues in the state.
Also Reacting to the ‘No flight zone’ imposed on the state, The Aare Onakakanfo of Yoruba Land, Iba Gani Adams, on Friday, described the current situation of things in the country especially in Zamfara State as a sign that Nigeria is ‘at war’.
He noted that for the Federal Government to announce that certain state is a no fly zone was an indication of war.
He made this known at a press conference in Lagos, ahead of Yoruba Stakeholders Security meeting slated for 17th of March in Ibadan.
He added that the gathering will avail them the opportunity to brainstorm on securing Yoruba land, adding that they were trying to create different layer of security.
Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari earlier banned mining activities in Zamfara State, also declaring a ‘no-fly zone’ in the northern state, in reaction to the insecurity in the state in recent times.
