
Seventeen Persons, eight Male, and Female adults as well four children escaped death by the whiskers in a ghastly road accident that occurred at Nawfia, along Awka – Enugu expressway, Anambra State.
The incident which occurred on 7th September 2021, at about 4.30 pm, involved a Toyota Hiace bus with Registration number, EPE 948 YD and a Sienna Space Wagon Car with Registration number BKL 361 ZJ.
Eye witness account said that the driver of the Toyota Hiace bus was driving against traffic when he lost control and ran into an oncoming Sienna car.

The report said the two vehicles were completely damaged, with remnants of their body parts littering all over the road.
Reacting to the incident, the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Anambra State, Mr Adeoye Irelewuyi advised motorists and other road users to desist from route violations and other forms of dangerous driving especially during the ember months, so as to reduce casualties on the highways.

He cautioned that road users should obey traffic rules and regulations always, for their safety, to stay alive during and after the ember months.
According to a release by the Sector, seven persons including two male and five female adults sustained varying degrees of injuries in the ill-fated accident, and were quickly rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
