A young man, Ikechukwu Obiora,has reportedly killed pregnant wife Ebere Obiora for allegedly delaying in opening gate for him.
The incident happened at Ezi-Ogwugwu, Otolo Nnewi in the Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The suspect who is currently in police custody, blamed the action on domestic violence.
He allegedly admitted to the crime after he was summoned by his in-laws for explanation on the development.
The suspect said he returned home in the morning of March 2, 2023, and was knocking at the gate, but his pregnant wife did not open the gate immediately.
Our correspondent gathered that the couple who got married in August last year were expecting their first baby in the next months before the incident happened.
