As Dr Chinedu Umeadi Foundation Rewards Excellence
Dr Chinedu Umeadi, the Young Progressive Party (YPP), candidate for Anambra Central Senatorial District in the 2023 general election, has vowed to make education and health his priorities if given opportunity to serve.
Dr. Umeadi, made his stand known during the 2022 / 3rd Edition of Dr. Chinedu Umeadi Foundation for Science Quiz Competition/Award Ceremony for Secondary Schools in Anambra State, organised in collaboration with the Anambra Post Primary Schools Service Commission, held at ASUBEB Conference Hall, Awka, on Friday, 8th July, 2022.
The YPP Senatorial Candidate maintained that his decision hinged on the vital roles the two sectors play in the development and progress of any nation.
He pointed out that health and education rank first on what he and other YPP candidates in Anambra can do, pledging to increase efficiency and reward commitment.
Speaking on health, Dr Umeadi promised to provide better facilities at the primary healthcare level, so that people can have access to quality healthcare services.
Also on education, Umeadi emphasised the need to prioritise education and encourage partnership with the private sector.
“When it comes to education, it is important we understand that it is about our future. I will focus on affordability and quality education, not only in my Senatorial District but whole of Anambra State.
“It’s about making sure you train the teachers and hold them responsible. It’s about a partnership with the private sector. We need to unleash the power of the private sector.”
Umeadi, who was represented at the ceremony, by the Cordinator of the Foundation, Chief Ikem Onwuadi, said, “Let me tell Ndi Anambra, the women, traders, youths, we don’t need anybody who doesn’t know what it means to serve, we need people with right content of character.
He intimated that since inception, the Foundation has organized football tourtments at Clubs levels thrice, 2019, 2020 and 2021, seminar for youth development twice, beauty contest for Njikoka Council Area of the State.
He further informed that the Foundation recieved a prestigious Anambra State Friends of Education Award in 2021, under the immediate past administration of Willie Obiano.
In her welcome address, the Director, Science and Technology Department of the Anambra State Post Primary Schools Service Commission (PPSSC), Lady Ebele Okudoh, said the Commission was highly elated by the doggedness and resolute financial contributions of Dr. Umeadi, especially, now that the World is facing retrogressive economic trend.
According to her, the Foundation, in collaborating with the PPSSC and Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB), worked tirelessly this year to produce the best in Science subjects both in Senior and Junior Categories, who were meritoriously rewarded.
Lady Ebele listed the winners in the quiz competition for Senior Secondary School category as; Ezenwunne Favour Mmesoma ( LSSS Adazi – came first), Ilechuku Dabere (CSS Isuofia, second), Emeke Egbunna Chinecherem (QRC Onitsha got the third position)
Also Nwujeh Soluchukwu (DMGS Onitsha came Fouth), Nnakaenyi Chisom (MRMCSS fifth) and Odigwe Chisom Judith (LSSS Adazi got the sixth position).
In the Junior Category; Ejakanome Chiamaka (MRMCSS Nnewi – came first), Ugochukwu Desmond (CKS Onitsha – second) and Okeke Anthony (St Joseph Seminary Awka-Etiti got the third position).
