Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo has praised the re-election of President Paul Kagame of Rwanda, calling it a testament to the trust and confidence placed in him.
In a congratulatory message personally signed by Obasanjo and released by his Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi, the former African Union (AU) Chairman expressed his delight at Kagame’s victory.
Obasanjo congratulated Kagame on his resounding win in the July 15, 2024, presidential election and celebrated the new mandate granted to him by the Rwandan people. He described Kagame’s re-election as a reflection of the nation’s trust in his leadership and vision, which he believes will further enhance Rwanda’s peace, security, and prosperity.
In his message, Obasanjo extended his wishes for Kagame’s continued good health, enabling him to build on his achievements and consolidate his leadership. He concluded with assurances of his highest consideration and best wishes for Kagame’s new term.
