The Minister of Education, Dr. Marufu Alausa, highlighted the critical role of skills development in driving economic growth and social progress in today’s rapidly evolving global economy.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Technical Teachers and Instructors Training Workshop in Ibadan, Alausa emphasized the urgent need for a skilled workforce in light of technological advancements reshaping industries.
The event, part of the Federal Ministry of Education’s Innovation Development and Effectiveness in the Acquisition of Skills Project, trained 300 participants in vocational skills like leatherwork, ICT, and welding.
Alausa, represented by Dr. M.A. Olodo, urged the importance of preparing students to be globally competitive, stressing that technical and vocational skills are vital for individual and national success.
