On Foreign News,
US President Donald Trump on Friday accused Ukraine of playing a tough hand in peace talks with Russia but having little leverage.
Speaking to US governors at the White House, Trump argued that Ukraine lacked “cards” in negotiations and dismissed the importance of President Volodymyr Zelensky’s involvement in the discussions.
This follows Trump’s ongoing feud with Zelensky, with Trump claiming Russia holds the upper hand after seizing large parts of Ukraine’s territory.
Trump has also pushed Ukraine to offer access to its mineral resources in exchange for US aid, a demand rejected by Zelensky.
Despite European concerns, Trump insists that Ukraine will eventually sign a deal granting access to valuable mineral deposits, despite the lack of security guarantees.
