Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky has accused Russia of stalling ceasefire talks by buying time to continue its war. This follows U.S. President Donald Trump’s claim that truce talks would begin immediately after speaking with both Zelensky and Russia’s Vladimir Putin.
Putin said he’s open to a peace memorandum but rejected a proposed 30-day ceasefire. The Kremlin later downplayed any progress in negotiations.
Meanwhile, the EU and UK have imposed fresh sanctions on Russian oil tankers and military suppliers, after a record drone attack in Ukraine. Kyiv insists talks must be serious and backed by pressure, not delay tactics.
