Over 500 delegates from 30 African countries are expected in Nigeria for the 2025 Pan-African Humanitarian Leadership Award (TPAHLA), scheduled for October 15–19.
This was announced by Francis Origa, Registrar of the Institute for Humanitarian Studies and Social Development, during the 2025 World Refugee Day event in Abuja.

Origa, who also chairs the TPAHLA Planning Committee, revealed the theme: “Honouring Heroes – Forging Forward,” and called for nominations of individuals and organizations driving peace, dignity, and resilience across Africa.
He emphasized the need to support displaced persons and urged a united front to tackle insecurity, hunger, and marginalisation.
World Refugee Day, marked annually on June 20, promotes awareness and inclusion of refugees across the globe.
