The African Democratic Congress (ADC), has criticised President Bola Tinubu over his unexplained five-day absence after the BRICS Summit in Brazil.

Tinubu returned to Nigeria on Sunday, July 13, but the ADC says his silence since the summit ended on July 7 is troubling.

In a statement by spokesperson Bola Abdullahi, the party said Tinubu’s pattern of disappearing after international engagements erodes public trust and accountability.

The ADC cited several past instances, including a nine-day silence after the World Economic Forum in 2024 and other trips to China, France, and the Netherlands.

They warned that such unexplained absences fuel speculation and damage Nigeria’s international image.

The party called for transparency, urging the president to brief Nigerians after global events.
