The Anambra State Directorate of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) has launched a flood safety alert campaign for communities prone to flooding, particularly in Ayamelum, Anambra East, and Anambra West.

NOA Director Edozie Ajaegbu emphasized proactive measures, urging residents to desilt drainage systems and avoid building near water channels. With water released from the Lagdo Dam expected to worsen flooding, Ajaegbu warned that 11 states, including Anambra, are at risk.

Community leaders joined the call for education on flood preparedness and sustainable flood management solutions to protect lives and property.
