Agulu Community and Agulu People’s Union Nigeria led by Chief Oliver Afamefuna has engaged in a community clean up. The cleaning the exercise took place on Saturday 25th June 2022, at Afor market along Awka Ekwulobia road Agulu and Nnewi road Nwagu.

During the exercise, the commissioner for environment Felix Odimegwu visit the scene and assured the President General Oliver and Agulu people that the present administration of governor soludo will do his best to support in environmental work and has taken it upon himself.

He said that the governor has privatised the waste management company and has extended his partnership with Ndi Agulu and thanked the President General Chief Oliver, Ide Agulu and his executives for their efforts relentlessly to Agulu Community and call on other towns in Anambra to emulate the beautiful gesture of Agulu people in the cleaning their towns and Anambra state.

Felix Odimegwu also promised that there will be a house to house refuse collection in Anambra ,given that Governor Soludo has made it compulsory that every last Saturday of every month will be a total clean up day in Anambra for 3 Hours from 7:00am to 10:00am and called on all Anambrarian to key in to the movement as it will be supervised by the government.

Chief Oliver the President general of Agulu in Anaocha described the exercise as a way of supporting the present administration in cleaning the state by making Agulu one of the best town in cleanliness and assured adequate implementation of the sanitation starting from next month.

Speaking to Kpakpando correspondent, the Public Relation Officer (PRO) of Agulu People’s Union , Hon Chinazo Onwuazombe said about 8 Trucks has been engaged for the evacuation of the refuse in Agulu and maintained Agulu town is more populated and need
more waste dromes and bags for refuse. Chinazo pleaded with Ndi Agulu to obey the rules and regulations in Agulu to get their waste bags as the government of Soludo promised door to door picking of refuse.
