Agulu Peoples Union Commissioned And Bring Aria-aria Aba Skills to Agulu
Skill acquisition stands as a vital pillar for many in realizing their dreams and securing a livelihood, akin to the importance of water for the human body.
Oliver Afamefuna (Owele Agulu), President General of Agulu People’s Union, shared this insight on August 26, 2023. He commissioned a project at the Eke Agulu Market’s skill acquisition center. This initiative was established by Mr. Peter Obi during his tenure as Anambra State’s Governor. The project aims to empower Agulu’s youth through diverse skill acquisition activities such as crafting shoes, bags, belts, clothes, and caps.
Speaking to Kpakpando correspondent, Afamefuna expressed his aspiration to bring the expertise of Aria-Aria Aba to Agulu. The goal is to transition the manufacturing of footwear, currently done in Aba, to Agulu. This would facilitate production and export to various parts of Nigeria and beyond.
Mr. Nwogu Chidiebube Izunna, the trainer contracted from Aria-Aria Aba, revealed that training has commenced. The program will span six months, during which he is dedicated to imparting essential knowledge to empower Agulu’s youth.
Interviews with trainees also shed light on the matter. Mr. Ezeani Ogugua from Okpu-ifite village and Iloanya Chidimma from Amatutu village expressed their happiness at participating in the unique project. They had begun training before the official commissioning date. The program represents an unprecedented endeavor for the Agulu Community.
In conclusion, the trainees extend their gratitude to the sponsors and offer prayers for their success in their respective endeavors. They promise to uphold the sponsors’ pride and serve as inspiration for others.
