Anambra state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is pointing accusing fingers at the state government for its alleged complicity in the death of the deposed monarch Chief Alex Edozieuno. Late chief Edozieuno whose’s killers are still at large, was shot dead on Friday at the Ezu Bridge, Otuocha, alongside his driver, who was simply identified as Chukwuemeka.
Speaking to the press on Sunday, the state chairman of the APC and director-general of the Andy Uba campaign organisation, Messers Basil Ejidike and Paul Chukwuma likened the Monarch’s death to a political killing.
Expressing sadness at the Chief’s death, they said that the death is of major concern to them because they consider it a political killing and wondered why any citizen of the country could indulge in such an act.
The APC party leaders lamented that the late chief recently joined their political party, APC, in a public function that took place in his hometown.
They, therefore, called on the law enforcement agencies, the police, the DSS to quickly sweep into action and conduct a proper investigation and apprehend the murderers of the late chief.
In a swift reaction, the Anambra State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment cautioned the APC against politicizing the death of the former monarch but instead, should provide any evidence it has about the crime to the Nigeria Police Force.
Also, in reaction to the death of the monarch, the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano has called on Police and other security agencies to leave no stone unturned in apprehending the perpetrators of the deadly act.
