Amakom Comes With Good Intentions: Igbariam Youth Foundation Hosts Free Medical Outreach

The people of Igbariam community in Anambra East Local Government Area have benefited from a free medical outreach organized by the Igbariam Youth Development Foundation (IYDF). The programme was held to support the candidacy of their illustrious son, Dr. Augustine Okoye Amakom, who is widely regarded as the people’s choice for the position of President-General of Igbariam community.

The medical outreach, approved by the Anambra State Ministry of Health, received strong support from the Igbariam Progressive Union, the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency (ASHIA), and the Nigerian Red Cross Society. It was designed to bring healthcare closer to the people and provide relief to many who could not afford medical services.

The event featured a series of activities including health enlightenment sessions, free medical consultations, physical examinations, basic body checks, and the distribution of free medications, A major highlight of the programme was the enrollment of thirty beneficiaries into the Anambra State Health Insurance Scheme, giving them access to sustained medical care.

Powered and sponsored by Dr. Augustine Amakom, the outreach stands as a clear demonstration of his love, concern, and commitment to the welfare of his people. His decision to channel resources into such a life-touching programme reflects his genuine intention to serve and restore the lost glory of Igbariam community.

Speaking at the event, the Director of Education and Research of the Foundation, Mr. Amakom Okoye, said the medical intervention was aimed at providing easy access to quality health services, reducing mortality, and improving life expectancy among residents. He announced that the Foundation plans to sustain the medical outreach every three months to give more people the opportunity to benefit, while also expanding its focus to other areas of community development.

In his lecture during the health enlightenment session, Dr. Chieze Collins, a medical practitioner, cautioned residents against the excessive consumption of raw salt, red meat, and sugar. He also emphasized the importance of regular health checks and maintaining a healthy lifestyle to prevent avoidable illnesses.

Also speaking, Mr. Izuchukwu Ogbaji from the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency explained the benefits of enrolling in the state’s health insurance scheme. He said that beneficiaries would have access to quality healthcare services without facing financial difficulties, thereby reducing the burden of out-of-pocket spending on medical needs.

The success of the free medical outreach has further reinforced the people’s belief that Dr. Augustine Okoye Amakom is coming with good intentions, His selfless initiatives and people-oriented approach continue to endear him to many, as Igbariam looks forward to a new era of unity, progress, and purposeful leadership under his guidance.
