Anambra State has intensified its crackdown on illegal revenue collectors.

Over the weekend, joint raids by the Internal Revenue Board and the Anti-Touting Agency led to multiple arrests at black spots like UNIZIK Junction and Regina Junction, Awka.

Offenders were found extorting tricycle operators and motorists while pretending to be government agents.

AIRS Chairman Greg Ezeilo says the state is committed to ending unauthorised levy collection, touting, and drug-related crimes.

Ezeilo reiterated the government’s goal of restoring public order and economic sanity through lawful enforcement, warning all illegal operators to steer clear or face prosecution.
