The Commissioner for Youths Development in Anambra State, Patrick Aghamba, and his wife have reportedly been kidnapped. The incident occurred on Friday as the couple was traveling to Abuja for the wedding of Adaora Soludo, the daughter of Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo.
According to sources, the commissioner’s aide, identified as ABK Offiah, was allegedly killed during the abduction.
The exact location of the kidnapping is still unclear, but it is believed to have taken place in Edo State.
A top government source confirmed the incident, stating that the state government is aware and will issue an official response soon.
No ransom demands or further communication have been received from the kidnappers as of yet.
The Anambra State Police Command has escalated the matter to other state commands for assistance, as the incident did not occur within Anambra’s jurisdiction.
The situation remains tense, with the state government and law enforcement agencies closely monitoring developments.
