Anambra Government Lifts Ban on Election of Igweship and Town Union Leaderships

Anambra state government has lifted it’s ban on elections of Igwes and town union leadership is state.

This was announced in a release signed by the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Mr. Greg. Obi, dated December 1, 2021, and addressed to all the Traditional Rulers, Presidents General and others.

Anambra State Government had in the build-up to the November 6 election effected the ban, with the new directive, communities can proceed with pending elections.
