Anambra Govt. Presents Certificate of Recognition To Chief Afamefuna As P-G Agulu.

Anambra State Government has presented Certificate of Recognition to Chief Oliver Afamefuna as the new President-General of Agulu People’s Union Nigeria, in Anaocha Council Area.

The Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Mr Collins Nwabunwanne, officially presented the certificate in the presence of the traditional ruler of the town, Igwe Innocent Obodoakor, among other dignitaries and Executive members of the town union.

Addressing them, Commissioner Nwabunwanne reminded them that Governor Chukwuma Soludo is passionate in ensuring that peace and stability reign in all communities, as well as restorations of peace to all warring Communities in the State.

He appealed to the PG, executive members and other stakeholders to accept the resolutions in good faith for peace to reign in the interest of sons and daughters of the Town.

The Commissioner harped on the need for the town union executives respect the town’s constitution in their dealings.

The former Committee Chairman, Hon Sir Onyebuchi Okpala, expressed satisfaction with state government efforts at reconciling them and endorsed the outcome.

In their separate speeches, the traditional ruler of the town, Igwe Obodoakor, Chief Dan Ogbuefi, Chief Ben obi, and Onowu Paulinus Aniagbaka, commended the state government and the Commissioner for the efforts in ensuring that peace returns to the community, and prayed for God’s Blessings.

Responding, the New President-General, Chief Oliver Afamefuna, who expressed delight at the reconciliatory move, promised to carry everybody along, as well as abide by the rules, guidelines and constitution of the town.
