A foremost PDP governorship aspirant in the November 6 gubernatorial election in Anambra State, Valentine Ozigbo, on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, joined several high-ranking members of the PDP family in the State to welcome the former National Publicity Secretary of the party, Chief Olisa Metuh as he arrived Anambra State.

Speaking to journalists at a reception organised for Metuh at the Party’s Secretariat in Awka, Mr Ozigbo expressed happiness at having Chief Metuh back home.

“I’m excited that we have this kind of event where we have gathered to celebrate and not to mourn. At some point, one of our leaders in the PDP, Chief Metuh was in captivity and was unhealthy. Today, he is free and looking very fit.

“Now, it’s time for him to bring to bear his experiences at all levels of the PDP, especially as we gear up for the 2021 governorship election in Anambra State.

“So I’m excited to have someone with the calibre of Chief Metuh out and fully prepared to help us launch a new dawn in Anambra State,” Mr Ozigbo added.

Chief (Barrister) Olisa Metuh, a graduate of Law from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and a former Investment Adviser with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), is also a founding member of the PDP and has held several national offices in the party.

Also a former National Auditor of the PDP and was a member of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).

He was later elected as the National Vice Chairman of the party for the South East Zone and most recently served as its National Publicity Secretary.

Other PDP stalwarts who welcomed Chief Metuh include Chief Okey Muo Aroh, a member of the National Executive Committee; Chief Ndubuisi Nwobu, the PDP Chairman in Anambra State, members of the Anambra State PDP executive, local government leaders, and hundreds of party members.
