The Anambra State Police Command has arrested 200 suspects over the past two months.
According to the Commissioner of Police Nnaghe Obono Itam, during a media briefing, detailed the crimes involved, including armed robbery, kidnapping, cultism, and drug trafficking.
Itam added that the tactical teams have been instrumental in these arrests, recovering 20 AK-47 rifles, 50 pump-action guns, and 10 vehicles, they also rescued four kidnapped victims, recovered 27 stolen vehicles, and over 1,644 rounds of various ammunition were seized.
The commissioner of police emphasized the ongoing efforts to train officers, engage with community stakeholders, and enhance security measures in the state.
He highlighted the police’s collaboration with vigilante groups, traditional rulers, and civil society organizations to strengthen community policing.
Itam assured the public of the command’s commitment to maintaining peace and security in Anambra State.
