The chairman of the Commission, Mrs Ifeoma Okaro revealed the plan during the opening ceremony of the 2021/2022 Career Day, held at Ogidi, Idemili North Council Area of the state.

This year’s Career Day has its main theme as “Appropriate Career for Self-Actualization” and a sub-theme as “Career in Agriculture” with emphasis on fish and snail farming, nutrition, dietetics and physiotherapy.

The event attracted students from public and mission schools, parents, resource persons, directors and staff of the commission, who counselled the students on issues of career choices, job hazards and salary among others.

Declaring the event open, Mrs Okaro pointed out that Career Day is set aside in the school calendar to enable professionals in all fields to interact and expose students in senior secondary classes with significant information on career choices.

While appreciating Governor Willie Obiano for his vision and successes recorded in the education sector, the PPSSC boss said that the event when utilized, will guarantee self-actualization and consequently contribute significantly and adequately to the development of the state and country at large.

In a goodwill message, the member in charge of PPSSC Ogidi Zone, Dr Ngozi Agbasimalo revealed that the career convention is an annual programme aimed at guiding students, especially the finalists on the right path, thus preparing them for a fulfilled and useful adult life.

For the chairman of the occasion, Barrister Bath Chukwuma, the commission and the state have qualified teachers and role models, who will direct and teach the students to ensure that they come out tops with secured career jobs that all will be proud of.
