The Anambra State Police Command, in continuation of its sustained efforts towards preventing violent crime and strengthening public safety, on Saturday, 8th August 2026, joined the Department of State Services (DSS) and other sister security agencies in a sensitization walk against violent crime across the State.
The exercise brought together personnel from the various security agencies, who marched in solidarity to raise public awareness on the dangers of violent crimes and the need for collective responsibility in maintaining peace and security in Anambra State.
Making this known in a Press Release, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the walk aimed at reinforcing the security agencies’ commitment to inter-agency collaboration, intelligence sharing, community engagement, and proactive crime prevention, while encouraging members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to the appropriate security authorities.
The Command reiterated that the security of the State is a collective responsibility and called on residents, community leaders, traditional rulers, religious organisations, youth and women groups, transport unions and other stakeholders to continue supporting the security agencies with credible information that could assist in preventing crime and apprehending criminal elements.
To this end the Command, therefore, urged members of the public to reject violence, avoid acts capable of disrupting public peace, and cooperate with security agencies in the collective effort to make Anambra safer.
