Report has it that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has impounded 21 trucks loaded with food and non-food items in Nigeria.
The trucks were heading towards N’djamena, Chad Republic, Central African Republic, and Cameroon.
The anti-graft agency intercepted the trucks in a sting operation at major exit routes in Borno State.
Investigation revealed that the food items were cleverly concealed, and the Waybills covering the goods indicated their destinations. The arrest of the trucks is expected to stem the tide of food insecurity caused by smugglers.
The Agency sais that the suspects arrested with the trucks are being profiled and will be charged to court once investigations are concluded.
