The Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Uche Okafor has extolled Governor Willie Obiano for his thoughtful visit to President Mohammad Buhari in Abuja on the need for massive development of all federal projects in the state.
In a telephone conversation with journalists in Awka, Rt. Hon. Okafor maintained that the visit was necessitated by the genuine efforts of Governor Obiano towards attracting meaningful development to the state from the federal government.
The Speaker noted that the issues raised by the Governor during the visit are priority projects such as the Enugu-Onitsha Express way, Second Niger Bridge, proposed University of Education, Aguleri as well as federal government’s relief intervention to the flood displaced local government areas in the state among others and appealed to President Buhari to grant the requests.
He enjoined Ndi Anambra especially politicians to join hands with Governor Obiano in the overall development of the state and eschew politics of bitterness and character assassination, which according to him, affect the smooth running of any political system.
