Anambra State CP has Ordered for a full scale investigation as regards the accident that claimed the life of a 22 year old.

Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP John Abang, has ordered full scale investigations into the  alleged  fatal motoŕ accident  which claimed  the life  of a twenty two years  old  man in Enugu ukwu,

Police report said on 20/05/2020 at 8:30pm, there was a report of  fatal motor vehicle accident along Nkwo Enugwu Ukwu in Njikoka Council Area of Anambra State  involving a shuttle bus with  Registration Number  ACA 325 ZW  driven by one Micheal Obi Chukwuebuka of Obeagu Osili of Enug-ukwu .

Police said the accident occured when  one Anthony Okafor, aged 22 years, while  trying to cross the highway, was suddenly hit by the vehicle during the rush hour of the enforcement of curfew.

Victim was rushed to Beke Memoirial Hospital, Nimo, by a Police  Patrol team  where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor on duty and corpse deposited at same Hospital morgue for postmotem examination.

The report said the driver was arrested while investigation is ongoing.

The Police report added that however, following the incident, aggrieved youth in the area went on rampage yesterday,  21/5/2020 and attempted to set ablaze Nimo Divisional Police headquarters, but were persuaded to disperse through the joint efforts of the Police and community stakeholders.

The report issued by the State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Haruna Mohammed, hinted that the Commissioner of Police, CP John Abang, who was deeply saddened by the unfortunate incident,  has ordered for a full scale investigation into the matter.

The CP further assured the  public that justice would be done in the case and the outcome of Police investigation would be made public in due course.
