Anambra State Cricket Association In Collaboration With Anambra Sports Development Commission Kickoff’s U-15 Summer Training Camp
The Anambra State Cricket Under-15 Summer Training Camp for both male and female categories has commenced with great enthusiasm and energy at the Bishop Crowther Seminary Ground. The camp, organized in collaboration with the Anambra State Sports Development Commission and the Anambra State Cricket Association, started on August 2nd and will run until August 8th.
The first day of the camp was marked by a series of dynamic activities aimed at developing the young athletes’ skills and fitness. The schedule included, Morning Session, Warm-up drills and physical exercise, Afternoon Session,Class session, Evening Session, Fielding drills, catches, long and short barrier, and returns
The camp features a distinguished lineup of facilitators, including Umeh Ugochukwu, Okoye Donald, Onwujiobi Azuka, Okafor Somtoo, Diobi Ebuka, Nzekwe Ifeanyichukwu, Chibuife Amarachi, Obinna Nweke, and Obinma Chisom, who are dedicated to mentoring and training the participants.
Patrick Estate Onyedum, the chairman of the Anambra State Sports Development Commission, expressed his commitment to fostering the development of all sports at the grassroots level. He commended the Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo CFR, for his support, which has been instrumental in reviving various sports across the state. Onyedum emphasized that such initiatives are crucial for discovering and nurturing future sports talents.
“The summer camp is a significant step towards our goal of touching all sports disciplines to ensure comprehensive grassroots development,” Onyedum stated. “We are grateful to Governor Soludo for making it possible to revive and promote all sports in Anambra State.”
The camp is a testament to the state’s dedication to sports development and the holistic growth of young athletes. With the collaboration of various stakeholders, Anambra State is poised to become a hub for sports excellence.
