The Anambra State Internal Revenue Service AiRS, has commenced the Biometric Enumeration/Registration exercise on all the Stakeholders and Operations on Transportation in Anambra State comprising of Buses including Shuttle Buses, Try-Cycle otherwise known as Keke, Trucks including Mini-Trucks, Tippers, Lorries, Taxis, Market Chairman, etc. at the designated ports in the State.
The AIRS through the spokesperson, Emeh Pascal, said that the exercise which was in line with the governor’s directive and the process approved by the State government for a token of N1,500 made for the issuance of Biometric Sticker and Driver’s ID Card which will be linked to each drivers in the State.
However, it sais they have notes that some unauthorized person’s are currently on the loose trying to sabotage the genuine effort of the State government in that regard.
To that effect, the Service said that they should regard anyone asking for bogus payment aside the approved enumeration fee as fraud and should be disregarded.
They also asked the general public to report any person or group of persons under any guise trying to defraud unsuspected citizens to the nearest police station or the appropriate authorities for immediate prosection .
