Anambra State Govt Warns Against Stacking Building Materials On Roads, Drainages.

Anambra State government has warned developers, traders and residents against stacking building materials along roads and drainages.
The Managing Director, Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra, OCHA Brigade, Mr. Celestine Anere, issued the warning during the command’s regular drive round the State, especially in Nnewi.
Mr. Anere lamented that the high rate of stacking of building materials on the roads poses great danger to road users and blockage of water channels, and warned that the agency will commence confiscating such materials and issuing notices to developers.
He pointed out that the operation is to ensure that traders doing business along the road as well as developers across the drainages are removed, while their goods and materials will be confiscated.
Mr. Anere said that the agency is determined to improve the living standards of Anambra residents through adequate maintenance of environmental hygiene and Laws.
During the drive, some construction sites were served notices for blocking waterways and obstructing free flow of water.
