The Chairman of Keke Riders in Anambra State, under the aegis of Tricycle Owners Association of Nigeria (TOAN), Honourable Obiora Sylvester, said they support the government’s decision to adopt digital means of collecting Internally Generated Revenue ( IGR).
Honorable Obiora who stated this while reacting to the state government ban on revenue collection said this would help check the excesses of touts and Agboros on roads, as well as those who pocket money collected.
He noted that aside from checking the activities of fake revenue collectors, the system would also help boost the government treasury, increase the state’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), streamline the socio-economic activities of the state as well as reduce criminalities.
TOAN Chairman also urged the government to unify all payments by both Keke and Buses in order to avoid duplication and further appealed to the State government to provide parks for Keke operators.
He explained that places, where they are currently using, are owned by individuals, and pledged their support to Prof. Soludo’s administration in its efforts to sanitize the system.
