Traditional Rulers in Anambra State have eulogised Governor Willie Obiano for the successful completion of the International Passenger Cargo Airport sited at Umueri, Anambra East Council Area, describing the project as no mean feat.
The traditional rulers made their feelings known during the Test-Run flights which took place on Friday, 30th April, 2021.
Speaking to journalists shortly after commissioning the Airport, the Chairman, Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council and the Obi of Onitsha, Obi Alfred Achebe, said Anambra State has again made another mark in history, and has taken another bold step towards launching the state and country into higher economic sphere.
Igwe Achebe described the Airport project as one of the good things that has happened to Ndi Anambra, and assured the state government of their Royal blessings and support.

State Traditional Rulers Council, Igwe Sunday Okafor, of Okpuno community in Awka South local Government, igwe Sunday Okafor, Igwe Pius Omachonu of Olumbanasaa , Igwe Wisdom Onebunne of Akwawhidi, Igwe Charles Agbala of Uke town in Idemili North, said the Airport is dream come true, and further placed it as the best in Africa.
Tbey pledged their unalloyed Support to the Governor as he delivers democracy dividends to the citizenry.
Also Contributing the host traditional ruler, Igwe Ben Emeka, traditional ruler of Omor, Chris Chidume Oranu,. the traditional ruler of Nise, Igwe Romanus Ilo . traditional rulers of Umuoba Anam, Igwe George Ekwealor, igwe B. Okeji of Omasi, Igwe P. Ezeamama of Enugwu Umuoyia and his Ukwalla counterpart, Igwe Joseph Ajodo, all expressed joy over the successful of the Airport project and hinted that Ndi Anambra can now start making use of the Airport.
The traditional rulers of Ezinifite in Nnewi South, Igwe BSA Obika and the traditional ruler of Ezinifite in Aguata Council Area, igwe Bob Orji, also expressed joy, praying God to continue to strengthen and direct the governor as he pilots the affairs of the state to the admiration of all.
