Archbishop Ibezim calls for prayers to solve the nation’s problems
The Archbishop, Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim, has called for fervent prayers to solve the numerous problems facing Nigeria.

In a sermon at the Service to mark this year’s Armed Forces Remembrance Day at the Cathedral Church of Saint Faith, Awka,
Archbishop Ibezim attributed the problems of the country to spiritual forces, calling on Nigerians to seek spiritual solution if the country would move forward.

He extolled the servicemen for their contributions to the security of lives in the country, and urged them to wear the armour of Christ to be able to defeat the monster of insecurity who, according to him, has continued to torment the peace and unity of the country.
The Archbishop also said Nigerians should pray fervently to save the country from disintegration, and to stand for peace irrespective of tribe.
He urged the servicemen to always represent truth and shun hatred , acrimony or division in the discharge of their duties.
Archbishop Ibezim also posited that spiritual problems are attacked spiritually with prayers and not with guns or weapons of mass destruction.
He appreciated the fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives for the good of the country.
Speaking also, Governor, Willie Obiano represented by the Head of Service, Barrister Harry Uduh, described the legion as a reservoir of men and women who have served the country creditably.
The Governor informed that the legion has worked closely with his administration, and that the state has tapped knowledge from the ex- servicemen on situations bordering on insecurity and the general well being of the people of the state.
He acknowledged that the legion itself depends on the state for support, pledging government’s readiness to assist in solving problems facing the legion.
