
The rescheduled match between Aspire FC and Bussdoor United has seen Aspire FC take the 3 points to lead against Bussdoor United. The game which was originally meant to hold on May 6th was played on Sunday, May 8 at the Awka Township Stadium at 2 pm.
In the 71st minute of the game, Bussdoor goalkeeper went on a hard tackle against ohn Bassey of Aspire FC in the 18-yard box. The centre referee pointed at the penalty spot, of which John Bassey placed past the keeper. Aspire took the lead in the 71st minute until the 90th minute when Obinna Isacc extended their lead with a fine header to make it 2:0 in favour of Aspire Fc. The win placed Aspire FC with 10 points on the table having won 3 games, I draw and lost 5 games.
According to our correspondent Marvelous Ezenwa, the coach of Bussdoor Okonkwo said that the game was not fairly officiated but described his opponent Aspire FC as a good and coordinated team and promised their fans to bounce back in subsequent games.
However, the Aspire FC coach, Chinedu Maduforo was not impressed with the performance of his boys saying that they would have won the game with five goals but still, he commended them for the win and was grateful for his promotion to the Nigeria National League and promised quality delivery. He also complained about the poor officiating of the match, blaming the poor organization on the pitch and the boy’s attitude on the pitch.
The team manager of Aspire Fc, Austin Okoye Amakom, while speaking to our correspondent said they are planning and working hard to see they are promoted. He said that his team will work hard to be acquainted with the peculiarities of the Nigerian football game.
