Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested three individuals, including a Canada-based nurse, for drug trafficking at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
The suspects, Okechukwu Emmanuel, Iwuagwu Ikedi Victory, and Usman Grace Khadijat Olami, were apprehended while attempting to smuggle cocaine and synthetic cannabis.
Emmanuel was caught ingesting cocaine while preparing to board a flight to Thailand, revealing he had swallowed five wraps weighing 400 grams. Meanwhile, Victory, arriving from Brazil, expelled 29 pellets of cocaine after ingesting 30.
Usman, the nurse, was found with
70 parcels of cannabis weighing 35.7 kg in her luggage from Canada. The NDLEA continues to combat drug trafficking at the airport amid rising concerns over narcotics smuggling.
