Rev. Father Emmanuel Obimma, the Spiritual Director of the Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry in Uke, Anambra State, has denied claims linking the murder of Justice Azuka, a lawmaker in the Anambra House of Assembly, to politics. Reports had falsely attributed to Father Obimma statements suggesting the murder was politically motivated due to Azuka’s affiliation with the Labour Party.

The priest, popularly known as Fr. Ebube Muonso, condemned the misrepresentation and clarified that he had not made such comments. Speaking through his media assistant, Obimma reiterated that while he believes the murder has political undertones, the escape of the suspects was suspicious and should be thoroughly investigated.

He urged the state government and police to ensure the re-arrest of the killers. Fr. Obimma further criticized political attacks against him, emphasizing his advocacy for justice and security in the state.
