A coalition of Soludo Support Groups has enrolled no fewer than 60 children from Rehabilitation Centre for the Disabled, Old and Tramps (RECDOT), Ozubulu, Ekwusigo Local Government Area into the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency’s (ASHIA’s) scheme.

Secretary of the Groups, Dr Nelson Omenugha explained that the gesture was to celebrate Prof. Chukwuma Soludo’s 60th birthday, which was marked on July 28.
Soludo is currently one of the gubernatorial aspirants under the platform of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).

Dr Omenugha said that the idea was to help the less privileged in the society access quality healthcare through the state’s health insurance scheme.  He also revealed that the coalition of Soludo Support Groups paid for the premium of 60 children from RECDOT on behalf of Prof. Soludo, and will also be making an endowment to critical sectors of the economy that Prof Soludo is passionate about.

The Executive Secretary ASHIA, Dr Simeon Onyemaechi in appreciation of the Group’s efforts paid the premium of 10 more children, making it a total of 70 children from RECDOT enrolled into the scheme.
Dr Onyemaechi commended the group for their kind gesture, while appealing to well-meaning individuals and groups to do the same by enrolling their people into ASHIA.

Proprietress of RECDOT, Mrs Rosemary Odukwe expressed her gratitude to the state Government and the Group for their continued support.
Mrs Odukwe also noted that the Government had been helping in ensuring that the children were well taken care of.
