A member of the Anambra State COVID-19 Team, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, says the state government is intensifying search across all communities in the State to fish out those already infected by the disease.
He listed Awka South local government area which houses the state capital city as the highest with coronavirus cases in the state.
Dr Ibezim, who is a Special Adviser to Governor Willie Obiano on Indigenous Medicine and Herbal Practice, said Awka South has 22 cases, Idemili North (10), while Nnewi North has 3 reported cases.
He hinted that increase in number of coronavirus cases in the Council Area led to the closure of Eke Awka Market and curfew imposed on the capital city from 8pm to 6am from Monday this week.
Dr Ibezim observed that the measure has helped to instil discipline and compliance to COVID-19 preventives measures by the people of the State.
According to him, the government has equally warned other council areas to comply with the COVID-19 preventive measures or face similar sanctions as the state was determined to contain the spread of the disease.
He further appealed for partnership from community leaders, religious leaders, non-governmental organisations, youth groups and civil society organisations with a view to mobilising the support of the citizenry to government directives.

As educational institutions across the States in Nigeria embrace the E- learning techniques in this COVID-19 era, the former Vice Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Professor Fidelis Okafor, has advocated a teaching program for students and pupils using power point to capture large audience while still observing social distancing.
According to professor Okafor, the system will accommodate indigent students whose parents may not be able to afford Android phones.
The academia noted that the emergence of COVID-19 has exposed the world more to gains inherent in accessing the internet which has multiple advantages.
He pointed out that students should utilise the long stay at home to be useful to themselves and their families, and as well read their books so as not to lose touch with their their educational expectations.
The educationist advised the youths that desire to obtain education should continue to be paramount in their scales of preference in view of its importance in achieving a brighter future, hence the need not to allow anything divert their minds from their studies.
He drew the attention of parents and guardians towards constantly monitoring and directing their children along the path of moral rectitude in this hard and trying times, and noted that many children and adults alike are going astray.
The former Vice-Chancellor expects everyone to adhere strictly to stipulated guidelines to check the spread of COVID-19 pandemic even in the pursuit of daily life endeavours.
