The Nigeria Police Force has secured the conviction of 21 foreign nationals linked to a cybercrime syndicate uncovered in Abuja last November.
Force spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi, said the syndicate was exposed during a raid on November 3, 2024, at Jahi, Abuja, leading to the arrest of 130 suspects 113 foreigners, mostly Chinese and Malaysian, and 17 Nigerians.
After thorough investigations, the suspects were arraigned on December 2, 2024.
On August 1, 2025, 21 were convicted and sentenced. Adejobi did not disclose the sentences but assured that prosecution of the remaining suspects continues.
The IGP, Kayode Egbetokun, reaffirmed the Force’s commitment to tackling cybercrime using technology and global partnerships.
